Evelyn Fragoso was a child of immigrant parents, and her mom worked in the garment industry. This lead to working as a union organizer.

Teamsters (IBT) Organizer (2007-2011)

“In 2011, I realized what I was doing with a union wasn’t working – and it wasn’t ok. It is a lot easier to work directly with management to change working conditions than to try to do it with a union. The union was only about creating an adversarial relationship against the company instead of working for the best interests of the employees. That’s why I switched and began working with management on behalf of employees.”
