The Center for Union Facts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that fights for transparency and accountability in America’s labor movement. This website has information about unions in general, and you can also select a specific union to look at more detail.
Unions are required to file a financial statement with the government, called an LM-2. You can see where the union gets and spends its money, both in broad categories and in detail. Clicking on this link will bring up this unions LM-2 as a PDF, which you can view or download.
Unions are required to file their Constitutions with the government, but they are not required to provide one to you. You may want to read this unions Constitution before you vote, to find out what additional rules or penalties could apply to you.
